The following are the rules and technical requirements as determined by Cycling BC. Please refer to Cycling BC for more information. These rules and regulations are included in the Technical Manual and can be downloaded here: Available this Spring

Rider Etiquette

All riders are to conduct themselves in a responsible, respectable manner on and off the race course. The use of foul language, violent outbursts, throwing of bikes and equipment is not acceptable.

All riders must always wear a helmet any time you are on your bike, even if you are not racing.

Eligibility / Licensing

Riders must hold a Provincial racing licence.  Out-of-country racers should inquire about licence requirements.

Category Structure

All riders are required to race in their designated race age category. This age is determined by the rider’s age as of Dec. 31, 2017.

Age categories may be combined for racing at the discretion of the Chief Commissaire, Cycling BC and event organizers. If age categories are combined, results, podiums and prizing will be awarded to the individual age categories.

Category Upgrades

Cycling BC will deal with any requests for category upgrades.

Podium & Awards

Riders are required to attend awards presentations.  Details will be available as to times and locations.

Hayman Classic GC

General Classification (GC) is calculated for each category. Calculation of the GC is on lowest cumulative time from each stage. In the event of a tie, the final road race place will be used to break it. If a tie remains, then the hill climb, followed by the first road race will be used.

Doping Control

  • All races are conducted under UCI anti-doping regulations

  • It is the responsibility of riders and team managers to know the rules

  • Doping control location will be clearly marked

Race Manual

Riders wishing to compete in an age group other than their own must complete the Upgrade Request Form and submit to Cycling BC no less than 3 weeks prior to the event.  We will NOT be able to accommodate upgrade requests made onsite.

As organizers we encourage riders to compete in the most appropriate age group -  providing they have the skills, knowledge and physical ability to compete in their preferred category.
